El-Fayez meets with the head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Egyptian Senate

Amman, January 22 - Senate President Faisal El-Fayez met in his office in the Senate today, Wednesday, with the head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Egyptian Senate, Hazem Omar, and discussed bilateral relations and the current situation in the region.

The meeting, which was attended by the head of the Arab, International and Expatriate Affairs Committee of the Senate, Dr. Hani Al-Mulki, emphasized the importance of strengthening Jordanian-Egyptian relations and building on them in various fields, to serve the interests of the two countries and brotherly peoples.

The two sides stressed the need to end the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, and for the international community to oblige Israel to implement the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, and to completely withdraw from the Strip, in addition to stopping the Israeli escalation in the West Bank.

The meeting also addressed the current situation in Syria, and emphasized supporting the choices of the Syrian people, and preserving the unity of Syria, its people, its lands, its security and stability, in addition to rejecting the Israeli aggression, and the need for Israel to withdraw from the Syrian territories it occupied after the fall of the Bashar Al-Assad regime.

During the meeting, emphasis was placed on the need to intensify efforts and continue coordination and consultation between Arab countries in order to formulate a unified Arab position towards the challenges facing the Arab nation, enabling it to confront any projects targeting its national security. The meeting was attended by the Rapporteur of the Committee on Arab, International and Expatriate Affairs, Senator Ali Al-Ayed, in addition to the Egyptian Ambassador to the Kingdom, Mohamed Samir.
