Senate Labor Committee Meets Minister of Social Development

Amman, March 5 - The Senate Labor and Social Development Committee, headed by Senator Issa Murad, met today, Wednesday, with Minister of Social Development Wafa Bani Mustafa.

Murad said that the meeting was held to review the ministry's work mechanism and the obstacles it faces, appreciating the ministry's efforts in institutionalizing work in social protection and developing its work continuously.

He stressed that the meeting is an important opportunity to review the system related to social responsibility, and the ministry's role in implementing the nursery system, praising the ministry's efforts in organizing donation collections in conjunction with the holy month and awareness and clarification campaigns.

He called for unifying the information base on beneficiaries and families in need, increasing coordination and communication between the ministry and the relevant authorities, and increasing awareness about mental health in crises and emergencies by developing a national plan to train a sufficient number of cadres to respond in mental health.

In turn, Bani Mustafa reviewed the efforts made by the Ministry at all levels and its vision regarding the files of the updated National Social Protection Strategy for the years 2025-2033, nurseries and aftercare, and continuing to automate the services provided by the Ministry, in addition to the efforts of the Ministry during the month of Ramadan and continuing to provide services to those entitled to them. She pointed to the Ministry's vision regarding the role of shelters and care centers that care for orphans, those without family support, people with disabilities and the elderly, as the attending dignitaries praised the efforts of the Ministry of Social Development in providing care and attention to the most vulnerable groups in society.
