The Senate Agriculture Committee reviews the digital transformation of the Department of Lands and Survey services

Amman, June 25 – The Senate Agriculture and Water Committee, headed by Senator Dr. Akef Al-Zoubi, was briefed today (Wednesday) on the efforts of the Department of Lands and Survey in digitizing its services.

The briefing came during a committee meeting attended by the Director General of the Department, Dr. Ahmad Al-Amoush, and the GIS Project Manager, Engineer Khawla Al-Kiloub.

Senator Al-Zoubi stated that the meeting aimed to explore the department’s digitization efforts, their impact on daily client interactions, their role in saving time and effort, and in safeguarding property rights. The meeting also addressed stakeholder strategies in utilizing land resources.

Dr. Al-Amoush presented the department’s efforts in making its services digitally accessible, emphasizing a strong commitment to accuracy in document issuance and the protection of property rights. He noted that digitization has contributed to a reduction in foot traffic and improved efficiency.

He added that the department is responsible for delivering 150 services, 92% of which are eligible for automation. So far, 85 services have been fully automated, prioritized based on importance and demand.

Al-Amoush also highlighted that essential information related to land and individuals can be accessed through the department’s official website and the "Sanad" application, including services related to ownership, sale, and mortgage, as well as administrative property valuation determined by a designated committee. He noted that the department provides its services through nine main offices.

Committee members commended the department’s efforts in digitizing and developing its services, praising the significant progress made in performance improvement and process simplification.

The committee recommended further streamlining of procedures, strengthening coordination between the Department of Lands and Survey and the Greater Amman Municipality on parcel subdivision issues, highlighting the department’s achievements through media outlets, and enhancing the mechanisms for administrative property valuation.
