He pointed to His Majesty King Abdullah II's firm position against the displacement of Palestinians and the necessity of establishing a Palestinian state on their national soil, as this is the only way to achieve security and stability in the region.
He explained that the meeting also aims to strengthen political and diplomatic cooperation between Jordan and China, serving Jordan's position on the Palestinian issue and pushing toward ending the occupation. He also emphasized China's important role in the UN Security Council in calling for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, stressing the rejection of the continued collective punishment of the Gaza Strip's residents, and the urgent need for humanitarian aid to enter the Strip.
Darwazeh highlighted the importance of supporting Chinese initiatives based on the "two-state solution" and rejecting unilateral policies that threaten peace and stability. He emphasized the need for China to play a greater role in the Security Council and international forums to pressure Israel to cease its violations of international and humanitarian conventions and halt illegal settlement activity.
He noted the need to support Jordan's position in protecting Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem under Hashemite custodianship, as this is an essential element in preserving the city's identity, Arab identity, and status. He also noted China's contribution to supporting the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
He expressed hope for increased support to ensure the continuation of UNRWA services in the fields of education, health, and relief.
For his part, Ambassador Zhao Dong emphasized the historical relationship between the two friendly countries, established by their leaderships 100 years ago, which coincided with the founding of both the Jordanian state and the Communist Party of China. He praised His Majesty the King's role in changing the international stance on the Palestinian issue, affirming China's support for the Hashemite Custodianship of Islamic and Christian holy sites in the Palestinian territories.
He pointed to the shared position on the Palestinian issue, which rejects the forced displacement of Palestinians and the policy of emptying the region of its population, emphasizing the necessity of establishing a Palestinian state on Palestinian national soil.
He explained that the shared position rejects all forms of violence against Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, stresses the urgent need for humanitarian aid, supports UNRWA, and rejects attempts to distort its image.
