Jordanian-Tunisian Brotherhood Committee Affirms Deep Relations and Strengthens Joint Cooperation

Amman, May 27 - The Jordanian-Tunisian Brotherhood Committee in the Senate, chaired by Senator Ihsan Barakat, met on Tuesday with Tunisian Ambassador to the Kingdom, Mufida Zribi.

Barakat emphasized that Jordanian-Tunisian relations are strong, solid, and historic, and constitute a distinguished model based on mutual respect, thanks to the leadership of the two brotherly countries. She noted the similarity of positions on many issues of common interest, most notably the Palestinian issue, and the importance of intensifying efforts to find a solution and halt the Israeli war on Gaza.

She highlighted the depth of the fraternal relations that bind the two brotherly countries and peoples, emphasizing the need to strengthen bilateral relations in various fields and the importance of developing them, particularly in the economic, parliamentary, cultural, and tourism sectors. She also highlighted the importance of Tunisia's legislative system, particularly in the area of ​​women's empowerment.

For her part, the Tunisian Ambassador, in the presence of her Deputy, Mohamed Ali Benhabib, affirmed the strong relations between the two brotherly countries, calling for continued coordination, expanded parliamentary cooperation, and increased mutual visits to exchange legislative expertise. This would positively impact development across various sectors.

She extended her congratulations to Jordan, its leadership and people, on the occasion of its 79th Independence Day, praising Jordan's pivotal role, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, in bringing peace to the region. She emphasized that her country highly appreciates His Majesty's stances and his significant role in protecting Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, based on the historic Hashemite custodianship over them.

The committee members, Dr. Khaled Al-Kalaldeh, Dr. Mustafa Al-Hamraneh, Issa Murad, Dr. Zuhair Abu Faris, Dr. Abla Amawi, Badriya Al-Balbisi, and Nasima Al-Fakhri, called for enhancing joint cooperation through the committee in various fields and at various levels, especially in the areas of parliamentary cooperation, cultural, tourism, and agricultural exchange, and working to increase the volume of trade exchange, in a way that achieves the common interests of both countries and the two brotherly peoples.
