The Legal Committee
The Legal Committee is tasked with the following duties:
- Reviewing draft laws and proposals related to the constitution, general elections, civil and criminal legislation, human rights, courts, judicial organization, judicial agreements, enforcement laws, personal status, nationality, expropriation, rental, defense, public morality, drugs, mental health substances, trade unions, and endowments, as well as laws that fall under these areas or any laws that do not fall under the jurisdiction of other committees.
- Reviewing the internal regulations of the Council and proposing amendments.
- Reviewing issues related to the membership and immunity of the members of the Senate.
- Reviewing the reports of the Anti-Corruption Commission.
- Reviewing government policies and decisions related to the Committee's scope of work.
