Response to the Throne Speeches

Response of the Senate to the Throne Speech at the opening the Second Ordinary Session of the 19th Jordanian Parliament

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful And peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, the Arab, Hashemite, and trustworthy messenger.
His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein

May God protect him and guide his steps on the path of goodness.Peace be upon the leader of the House of Hashim, the commander of the march of construction and growth, the guide of the caravan, and the embodiment of hope and aspiration.
A greeting of loyalty, fidelity, and sincerity to your Hashemite throne, to your esteemed Crown Prince, and to a centenary that will be followed by another centenary in the path of the pure Hashemite family, leading the nation towards goodness that follows goodness, with strength that is intertwined with strength.
Your Majesty,
We are filled with pride as we stand before you, having gained confidence, determination, and hope after listening, along with the people of your dear Jordan, to the Throne Speech in opening the second regular session of the 19th Parliament, which carried the essence of your wisdom and noble directives to your loyal representatives who bear your message and the message of the nation for its good and the good of the Ummah.
Your Majesty,
The Senate has had the great honor of carrying the historical national trust, represented in the comprehensive modernization you ordered. Politically, and after national consensus, constitutional amendments, election laws, and party laws were enacted, along with legislative guarantees to empower women and youth, paving the way for Jordan to reach a party-based parliamentary system, as your Majesty envisioned for the new Jordan in its new centenary.
After the conclusion of the economic workshop that included representatives from both the public and private sectors, which you commanded, the Senate will contribute, within its constitutional powers, alongside your government, to achieving this so that Jordanians can feel the recovery of their national economy.
Your Majesty,
Your noble directive that the coming phase should witness diligent work that knows neither fear nor hesitation nor retreat, whose foundation is achievement and whose goal is comprehensive revival that citizens feel its impact, will be a beacon for the work of the Senate, behind your banner, with which we will elevate our spirits and efforts, and advocate its noble goals in all forums.
We will also work to encourage the adoption of your noble directives by all individuals and institutions so that we all reach, behind your banner and under your leadership, the state of production you aspire to, with a robust economy capable of creating job opportunities to improve the living standards of Jordanians, and to encourage investment under a democratic political system based on popular participation where youth and women occupy the places they desire and deserve.
This requires, as you have kindly mentioned, the completion of the third part of the comprehensive modernization and reform system, the cornerstone of which is an efficient and flexible public administration, free from slack and inertia, operating with the latest and fastest means to resolve excessive bureaucracy and the cycle of procedural and legislative duplication.
Your Majesty,
This homeland has been built by generation after generation of loyal individuals who believe in it and its leadership and message. It will not be harmed by the pessimists who see or refuse to see the cup as anything but empty, despite the many goods it contains, and who seek negativity amid achievements, ignoring the grave challenges that have afflicted and continue to afflict all parts of the world. The accomplishments made since the era of the late King Abdullah I, up to your blessed reign, have protected Jordan from sliding into destructive abysses.
For the sake of this homeland and its message, and out of loyalty to the torch of work and construction that you carry from generation to generation, we promise you, our Majesty, that we will work within the framework of the constitutional powers entrusted to us, regarding flexible separation and cooperation with your government, to support and enhance the rule of law, develop the legislative environment in all fields, and overcome all obstacles and challenges standing in the way of the comprehensive national revival we are about to undertake today, within a system founded on justice and equality that does not differentiate between one citizen and another except by the extent of their achievements and contributions to their homeland and people.
Your Majesty,
As you lead Jordan's foreign policy and represent the voice of wisdom trusted by the world from east to west, you have made Jordan in your reign a refuge for all who seek truth and justice, and the cherished place for our brothers and friends. It is our duty to build on this position and seize this opportunity to enhance our economic position, not only as a center for attracting investment but also to achieve what you have always called for, that Jordan becomes a regional hub for major, modern, and sustainable projects that yield direct and tangible benefits to the homeland and the citizen. We are capable and deserving of this, given the geographical and demographic advantages that our small homeland, great in its potential, leadership, and people, possesses.
Jordan is the product of the great Arab dream and the bearer of the principles of the Great Arab Revolt for independence, unity, and a better life. It will remain supportive of the just causes of its Ummah, foremost among them the Palestinian cause, for there is no stability for our region and our world without its stability, within a just and comprehensive solution, halting all aggression and violation of the rights of its people and land, while working, as you have kindly instructed, to empower them economically so that they become part of any regional economic projects, without compromising or appeasing their right to end the Israeli occupation and establish their independent state, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
We take pride, our Majesty, in the Hashemite custodianship of the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, which you carry the historical trust of, surrounded by the love and appreciation of believers worldwide, and the two brotherly peoples on both sides of the river.
Allow us, our leader of the nation and commander-in-chief of our armed forces, to extend our salute of reverence, respect, and appreciation to the Jordanian Armed Forces – the Arab Army, and to the honorable members of the armed forces and security agencies, both serving and retired, who are the truest in word and the most loyal in action, who have given and continue to give sacrifices and heroism for their homeland.
May God have mercy on our noble martyrs who gave their souls on the land of Palestine, in defense of our beloved Kingdom and what the Arab nation is facing, as well as their contribution to peacekeeping forces worldwide.
Your Majesty,
We renew our thanks and appreciation for what you have graciously offered by opening the regular session of Parliament, and we pledge to you, as we have always pledged, that we will remain loyal soldiers to the homeland, and faithful servants to its people and interests, and that we will work with all our ability and determination to achieve our national aspirations within your vision for the new Jordan, inspired by your wisdom, and following your steady and righteous path.
We ask God to protect your Majesty for your homeland, your people, and your Ummah, and to preserve His Royal Highness Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince.
And God is the Grantor of success.
And peace be upon you, and God's mercy and blessings.
