Amman - Senate President Faisal El-Fayez met in his office at the Senate House today, Sunday, with the President of the General Auditing Bureau in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Hussam Al-Anqari, in the presence of the Chairman of the Financial and Economic Committee in the Senate, Dr. Rajai Al-Maasher, and the Chairman of the Auditing Bureau, Dr. Radi Al-Hamadin.
During the meeting, the depth of Jordanian-Saudi relations was emphasized, and the importance of strengthening them in various fields, and building on them in a way that serves common interests, while appreciating the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's supportive positions for Jordan and just Arab causes, most notably the Palestinian cause and the rejection of the displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.
El-Fayez praised the great role played by the Auditing Bureaus and oversight bodies in preserving public funds.
He called for strengthening joint cooperation between Jordan and Saudi Arabia in this field, through exchanging experiences and learning about the best international practices that protect and preserve public funds.
The President of the Senate praised the role played by the Audit Bureau in Jordan, and the efforts it exerts within the framework of its oversight role over various government institutions, and its keenness to inform the Senate of the results of the monitoring work it conducts periodically.
For his part, Dr. Al-Anqari expressed his happiness with the depth of the relations between the two brotherly countries, and the continuous and fruitful cooperation with the Audit Bureau in Jordan.
He said that we are keen to exchange experiences with the Audit Bureau in Jordan, to identify the best practices that enable the preservation of public money, and at the same time prevent violations before they are committed, in addition to activating the efficiency of financial auditing and oversight of the performance of government agencies.
He stressed that there is a common agreement between the Audit Bureau and the Saudi General Audit Bureau in order to activate the joint memorandum of understanding that enables the exchange of expertise and experiences, as we in Saudi Arabia have strong relations with the Audit Bureau and have benefited a lot over the years from the experience of the Jordanian Audit Bureau.
For his part, the President of the Audit Bureau, Radi Hammadeen, said that the Bureau has developed a strategic plan in translation of the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, Crown Prince, through which we seek to use modern technology in prior auditing work, in addition to automating the Bureau’s work in order to use the best auditing practices and in accordance with international indicators.
