Senate President Praises Intelligence Efforts to Maintain Security and Stability

Amman, April 15 - Senate President Faisal El Fayez expressed the Senate's pride and appreciation for the significant role and tireless efforts of the General Intelligence Department, our various security agencies, and our Jordanian Armed Forces in confronting terrorist plots targeting the nation's security and stability.

He said, "We, in the Senate, congratulate His Majesty King Abdullah II, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, and the Director of the General Intelligence Department on this national achievement today, represented by the Knights of Truth's arrest of four deviant cells that sought to harm and disrupt the nation. This great achievement is yet another addition to the great accomplishments accomplished by our various security agencies and our armed forces in defending the nation and ensuring its security."

El-Fayez said, "While we commend the General Intelligence Department for its great efforts and today's uncovering of terrorist plots aimed at undermining Jordan's national security and inciting chaos and physical destruction within the Kingdom, this significant work confirms that the General Intelligence Department is on the lookout for all dark and terrorist forces, and for all treacherous hands attempting to undermine Jordan, its national institutions, and the state of security it enjoys."

He emphasized that Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, will remain impregnable against the forces of evil. With the wisdom and political acumen of His Majesty King Abdullah II, and with the support of our security services and armed forces, and the support of all free Jordanians, Jordan will remain free, sovereign, and an impregnable fortress, a rock against which all malicious conspiracies and plots hatched against the nation under the cover of darkness by the forces of evil will be shattered.

He said that the Senate condemns this cowardly terrorist act, through which the forces of evil and darkness seek to direct the compass toward Jordan and spread chaos there. They also seek to divert attention from the heinous Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank. This is aimed at weakening Jordan's position in supporting the Palestinian people and the tireless and ongoing efforts of His Majesty King Abdullah II to stop the aggression and enable the Palestinian people to exercise their legitimate rights.

He pointed out that such cowardly terrorist acts and plots will not break the free will of Jordanians and will only increase their resolve and steadfastness in confronting the various forces of evil, oppression, and terrorism, wherever they may be.

El-Fayez added: "These plots will not undermine the unity and cohesion of Jordanians. They will only increase their resolve to adhere to their homeland and to rally around the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II in his continued defense of our national principles and Jordan's security and stability. They will also rally around our chosen Arab Army and security services, refusing to attack or harm them."

El-Fayez said that Jordan is being targeted by internal and external forces, and therefore we must strengthen our internal front, social cohesion, and close ranks to prevent these forces of darkness from tampering with our security and stability. He pointed out that His Majesty King Abdullah II had indicated that there are those who take orders from abroad, saying, "Enough is enough, shame on you." He called on everyone to shoulder their national responsibility in confronting anyone who attempts to harm Jordan or encroach upon its fundamental principles and supreme interests, as remaining silent about such individuals is no longer acceptable.

El-Fayez affirmed the Senate's support for our armed forces and security services, stating that they are the nation's impregnable fortress and the watchful eye over its security and stability. He said they deserve our full support, pride, and appreciation.
