Amman - Senate President Faisal Al-Fayez said that we in the Senate stand behind His Majesty King Abdullah II with his clear, firm and steadfast positions, considering the interests of Jordan and the Jordanian people as the top priority, in His Majesty's response to journalists' questions during his meeting today with US President Donald Trump at the White House.
Al-Fayez said that His Majesty King Abdullah II sent a clear message, that Jordan will not accept the displacement of the people of the Gaza Strip to Jordan, and that Jordan's interests are above all considerations, stressing His Majesty that the Gaza Strip must be reconstructed and the displacement of its residents must be rejected, and that President Trump's initiative will have a clear Arab response.
Al-Fayez said that His Majesty the King confirms once again that pressures, no matter how much, will not push Jordan to abandon its national principles, as His Majesty stressed that protecting Jordan and Jordanians is above all considerations, and that the solution to the Palestinian issue must be on Palestinian land, based on international legitimacy resolutions and the two-state solution.
In this context, His Majesty the King did not ignore the dangerous situation in the West Bank, as he stressed to President Trump during their bilateral talks the need to stop the dangerous Israeli escalation there, to prevent the deterioration of the situation there, which will have negative effects on the entire region.
Al-Fayez said that His Majesty the King stressed during his talks with President Trump that peace in the Middle East is in everyone's interest and achieving it is everyone's responsibility, stressing standing behind His Majesty's wise leadership, his great efforts in defending Jordan's supreme interests, and His Majesty's confrontation of various plans and initiatives that target the security and stability of the homeland.
