The Senate meets with representatives of the local community in Karak Governorate

Karak - Senate President Faisal El-Fayez stressed that Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, will not abandon its national principles and will confront any attempts at forced displacement of Palestinians towards Jordan, stressing that His Majesty has repeatedly stressed that the solution to the Palestinian issue in Palestine is through enabling the Palestinian people to obtain their legitimate rights by establishing an independent and viable Palestinian state on Palestinian national soil with Jerusalem as its capital.

Jordan's position on displacement is firm and unchanging, as Jordan is for Jordanians and Palestine is for Palestinians. El-Fayez warned of the dangers of the expansionist and aggressive plans of the Israeli occupation state, which aim to forcibly displace Palestinians and annex the West Bank and the Jordan Valley areas, and the impact of this on the security and social situation in Jordan, as a result of its frantic efforts to find solutions to the Palestinian issue at Jordan's expense.

This came during his meeting today, Tuesday, in Karak Governorate with several representatives of the local community in the governorate, in the presence of the President's assistants and heads of committees in the Senate, in addition to Karak Governor Dr. Qablan Al-Sharif, the governorate's notables and a number of its deputies, within the framework of the Council's keenness to communicate with various social, popular and youth components, and representatives of community institutions in various governorates, to discuss various issues of the homeland and its challenges.

During the meeting, El-Fayez pointed to the political and security challenges facing Jordan and the Arab nation, in light of the crises that the region is suffering from, and the absence of a unified Arab position to confront them, and not knowing where these crises will lead, with the new American administration, and the continuation of Israel's aggressive and expansionist policies, and fears of proposing settlement projects for the Palestinian issue, at the expense of Jordan's security, stability and national constants.

He said that he is not worried about the future of Jordan due to the strong relations of His Majesty the King at the international level and in decision-making circles in America, especially in the Senate and House of Representatives, in addition to the strong relations that link Jordan to its Arab surroundings.

He pointed out that national unity is the second safety valve for Jordan after the first safety valve represented by His Majesty King Abdullah II, stressing that whoever tries to tamper with Jordan's constants and national unity is my enemy and the enemy of all Jordanians, pointing out that Jordan faced major challenges that it was able to overcome and surmount with the wisdom of its Hashemite leadership, the awareness of the Jordanian people, and the strength of our security and military apparatuses.

The President of the Senate stressed that Jordan has achieved great accomplishments in various fields and sectors, and perhaps the greatest accomplishment that has been achieved is the ability of His Majesty King Abdullah II, with his wisdom and courage, to maintain Jordan's stability and security despite the political challenges and conflicts around it and in its surroundings.

El-Fayez pointed out that Jordan is a strong country with its Hashemite leadership, people, and security apparatuses, and that Jordan is the cornerstone and stability in the region, and any tampering with its security and stability will lead to chaos in the region from which no one will be safe. El-Fayez said that the unrest, tragic events and rapid developments witnessed by the region make it difficult to predict what will happen to it.

Therefore, the shape of the region and its political map in the future, and the new political, economic and security repercussions and challenges that will result for Jordan, are fundamentally linked to the development of events in Syria, scenarios for resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the positions of the US administration on this conflict and the form of its relations with Arab countries, and what settlement projects this US administration will propose to end the crises in the region.

He said that His Majesty the King rejects any attempts to displace the Palestinian people and His Majesty's loyalties are clear and declared: "No to settlement, no to an alternative homeland, and the Hashemite guardianship is a red line." He pointed out at the same time that the Palestinian people, who have been resisting the occupation for decades in order to obtain their legitimate rights, will not accept displacement and will continue to adhere to their land and legitimate rights.

El-Fayez explained that in light of the challenges facing Jordan, and the success of the Jordanian policy led by His Majesty the King with his wisdom and political acumen, in confronting all suspicious plans targeting Jordan, and in facing the requirements of the next stage full of major challenges, this requires unifying the efforts of the various political, social and partisan components of the Jordanian people, and rallying around the Hashemite throne under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, in His Majesty's defense of our national constants and Jordan's supreme interests. He also called on everyone to resort to logic, wisdom and rationality towards various national issues, by overcoming the state of skepticism about every Jordanian Arab position, and enhancing responsible and purposeful dialogue, and believing in the opinion and the other opinion away from fanaticism, violence and indifference, and demanded the necessity for everyone to confront any attempts targeting Jordan's security and stability, as the security, stability, renaissance and prosperity of the homeland is a shared responsibility that falls on everyone.

He added, "Jordan is facing economic difficulties today, imposed by the current situation in the region, in addition to the rise in energy prices and the costs of hosting refugees. These economic challenges have been reflected in economic growth and the livelihood of citizens, and have led to an increase in the budget deficit and indebtedness, an increase in poverty and unemployment rates, and a decline in the level of services."
