Amman - The Senate approved three draft laws as received from the House of Representatives in today's session, Tuesday, headed by President Faisal El-Fayez and attended by the presence of the Ministry.
The Senate returned two draft laws: General Statistics and the Solidarity Fund to Reduce Agricultural Risks to its specialized committees for further study.
The Senate approved a draft law amending the Jordanian National Building Law as received from the House of Representatives, with a recommendation that the representative of the Public Security Directorate in the Technical Committee for National Building Codes be a specialist.
The draft law reconstitutes the National Building Council and the Technical Committee for National Building Codes, which contributes to carrying out the tasks assigned to them and the smooth running of work to maintain public safety.
The Senate approved an amended law to the law regulating the profession of surveying and real estate offices, as received from the MPs, which regulates the conditions for practicing the profession of surveying and real estate appraisal, the work of real estate offices, the basis for their classification, licensing fees, and penalties imposed on violators pursuant to regulations issued for this purpose.
The draft law punishes with a fine of not less than 1,000 Jordan dinars and not more than 1,500 Jordan dinars anyone who practices the professions of surveying and real estate appraisal and real estate office work without a license, and fines anyone who violates the provisions of the law and the regulations issued pursuant to it an amount of not less than 500 dinars and not more than 1,500 Jordan dinars and doubles it in the event of repetition.
The Council also approved a draft law amending the Residence and Foreigners Affairs Law as received from the House of Representatives, which doubles the penalty on foreign violators by 90 Jordan dinars for each month of the violation "3 Jordan dinars for each day" for anyone who did not obtain a temporary residence, exceeded the residence period, or did not submit a request to renew the annual residence within a month of its expiration.
