Amman, April 7 - A delegation from the Senate participated in the 150th General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, hosted by Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from April 5 to 9.
The delegation includes Senator Haya Al-Qaraleh (Chair) and Senator Dr. Mahasin Al-Jaghoub (Member), according to a Senate statement issued on Monday.
During an intervention during the meetings of the Sustainable Development Committee, Al-Qaraleh stressed the need to stop the brutal aggression on the Gaza Strip and the genocide against the Palestinians. He highlighted the importance of opening the crossings and allowing the unconditional entry of humanitarian and medical aid into the Strip, reiterating his rejection of the forced and voluntary displacement of Palestinians.
According to the Senate statement, Al-Qaraleh participated in the conference of the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement, held on the sidelines of the IPU conference.
Al-Jaghoub was selected during the Arab Coordination Meeting to draft an emergency item on behalf of the Arab Group, and she participated in meetings of the Middle East Affairs Committee as a member of the committee.
Al-Jaghoub was also chosen to represent the Arab and African groups in presenting the joint emergency item, submitted by Jordan and Egypt on behalf of the Arab group, and Zimbabwe and Seychelles on behalf of the African group, before the General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
