Senate President Faisal El-Fayez met with the Chinese Ambassador to the Kingdom, Chen Chuandong, at his office in the Senate on Monday. The meeting discussed aspects of Jordanian-Chinese relations and ways to strengthen them in various fields, in addition to the current situation in the region.
El-Fayez praised the high level of Jordanian-Chinese relations in various economic and political fields. He stated that these are distinguished relations based on mutual respect and the advancement of common interests, and that Jordan is constantly seeking to develop and strengthen them.
The meeting addressed the current situation in the region and the importance of the international community undertaking practical efforts to end the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and halt the war crimes committed against them.
For his part, the Chinese Ambassador affirmed his country's appreciation for the great efforts made by His Majesty King Abdullah II to bring peace to the region and halt the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.
He said that China will make joint efforts with Jordan to enhance international action, revive the political horizon for a two-state solution, and find a comprehensive, just, and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue, praising the high level of Sino-Jordanian relations.
