Amman - Senate President Faisal El-Fayez met with Turkish Ambassador to Jordan Yakup Cayamazoglu at his office in the Senate on Wednesday. They discussed the current situation in the region, as well as ways to build on bilateral relations in various fields.
El-Fayez emphasized the strength of Jordanian-Turkish relations and noted Jordan's constant commitment to strengthening them and maintaining coordination and consultation on various issues of mutual interest. He highlighted the importance of enhancing economic cooperation and building investment partnerships, particularly in the food industry, in addition to the importance of activating bilateral agreements in various fields.
The meeting, attended by Senator Yassin Al-Hasban, Chairman of the Jordanian-Turkish Parliamentary Brotherhood Committee in the Senate, addressed the current situation in the region and Jordan's unwavering positions, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, which are based on the need to establish security and stability. El-Fayez highlighted His Majesty's ongoing efforts to halt the brutal Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank, and the need to immediately allow the entry of humanitarian and medical aid into the besieged enclave.
For his part, the Turkish Ambassador affirmed his country's keenness to strengthen bilateral relations with Jordan in various fields, in addition to continuing coordination on various issues of common interest in the region, including the restoration of security and stability and the cessation of Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people.
He praised the significant role played by His Majesty King Abdullah II in ensuring regional security and stability, and highlighted the importance of strengthening the economic and investment partnership and activating the bilateral agreements signed between the two friendly countries in various fields.
The meeting addressed the current situation in Syria, with both sides reaffirming their condemnation of the Israeli aggression against Syria and the necessity of its withdrawal from Syrian territory. The two sides also emphasized Syria's unity, stability, and territorial integrity.
