Madaba - Senate President Faisal El-Fayez affirmed that Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, is capable of overcoming the political and security challenges imposed by the current situation in the region, and will not allow any party to tamper with its national principles and supreme interests.
He stated that Jordan, since its founding by King Abdullah I, has faced numerous political and security challenges, due to its geopolitical location. However, these challenges have been overcome, and Jordan has emerged stronger and more resilient, thanks to the wisdom of our Hashemite leadership, the awareness of our people, the resilience of our security services and armed forces, and the solidity of our constitutional institutions. Jordan has thus remained resilient and unbreakable.
He explained that the Jordanian national identity is strong, deeply rooted, and indivisible, and that no party will be allowed to tamper with it. He emphasized that the strength of Jordanian identity has enabled it to absorb all waves of Palestinian and other refugees since 1948. All Jordanians, both immigrants and supporters, have fused together to build the Jordanian state and defend its principles. Jordanians of all backgrounds have become one Jordanian family.
This came during El-Fayez's meeting today in Madaba Governorate with representatives of the local community in the governorate. The meeting was attended by the Assistant to the President, the heads of the Senate committees, the Governor of Madaba, the governorate's notables and deputies, the head of the provincial council, and mayors. This meeting reflects the Senate's commitment to communicating with various social, popular, and youth components, as well as representatives of local community institutions in the various governorates, to engage in dialogue on the nation's various issues and challenges.
During the meeting, El-Fayez explained that the question posed today is: What should we do in light of the changes on the international scene, the policies of the new US administration, the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian war, and what has happened and is happening in the region and among regional countries? He emphasized the continued expansionist and aggressive policies of the occupying state, the reoccupation of the Gaza Strip, and the existence of a new regional and international reality and new political equations in the region.
He said that Jordanians, with all their political and social components, must be cautious in dealing with various current issues, drawing on their awareness and historical legacy of concern for the security and stability of the homeland.
He said that what is required today, in light of the chaos, conflicts, and political crises on the international and regional arenas, is to overcome the skepticism of every Jordanian-Arab stance and promote responsible and purposeful dialogue, far from fanaticism, violence, and indifference. He also emphasized that everyone must confront hate speech and discord, as the nation's security, stability, renaissance, and prosperity are a shared responsibility that falls on everyone. He emphasized the importance of consolidating national unity, strengthening the internal front, enhancing the cohesion of our social fabric, and considering Jordan's interests, security, and stability a top priority.
He stated that Jordan's interests, its geopolitical economic reality, and its security challenges must be taken into account in our actions and positions on any domestic or foreign issue and in every political stance we take. Therefore, we must also stand united in order to preserve the nation, its constants, and its supreme interests, and to confront those who attempt to sow division among its citizens or attempt to harm the security services and the Chosen Arab Army, as they are the nation's shield and impregnable fortress.
He explained that the state of security and stability Jordan is experiencing, despite the repercussions surrounding it, which some seek to tamper with. Jordan is a target, and the electronic flies directed against it are relentless, and those with private agendas do not cease spreading rumors and insults to weaken the national front.
El-Fayez addressed a message to those who hold grudges, infiltrators, and those who stir up discord, stating that they must realize that all Jordanians, the brave men and women of the nation, stand with Jordan and His Majesty King Abdullah II, with our Chosen Arab Army, and with our security services, sacrificing their lives and blood for them.
El-Fayez said, "I am not afraid for Jordan's future, despite the geopolitical challenges and changes at the regional and global levels. This nation will remain strong and dignified thanks to its Hashemite leadership, the awareness of our people, and the resilience of our security and military forces." He added, "Thanks to the wisdom of His Majesty King Abdullah II, whose political acumen, international presence, and the great respect he commands from world leaders and politicians, we have been able to overcome all the challenges that have beset Jordan, especially those related to the Arab Spring and the suspicious deal, which aimed to resolve the Palestinian issue at the expense of Jordan and its principles."
El-Fayez stated that any attempts to tamper with Jordan's security will fail in the face of the steadfast will of our people. He also emphasized that the West is well aware that Jordan represents balance and stability in the region, and that tampering with its security will have significant repercussions for the countries of the region, the Middle East as a whole, and its peace and stability.
Regarding Jordan's positions on the Palestinian cause, its support for the Palestinian people's struggle, and its opposition to the brutal Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, Israel's aggressive policies, and its expansionist policies, El-Fayez emphasized that Jordan is closest to Palestine and the Palestinian cause. He added that our positions, and those of our Hashemite leadership, have always been honorable in supporting the Palestinian people and defending the Palestinian cause.
He added that our continued support and backing for the Palestinian people, as well as our firm stances toward enabling the Palestinian people to exercise their legitimate rights and halt the heinous Israeli aggression, are firm and unwavering, and are not open to compromise or change.
He pointed out that Jordan, since the era of the emirate, has supported the Palestinian people's struggle for freedom and independence. He added that Jordanians, along with the free people of the nation, will never forget the sacrifices made by our Hashemite leadership for Palestine, its freedom, and independence. Furthermore, the Hashemite custodianship of the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem has worked to protect and reconstruct them, preventing their Judaization. He stressed that His Majesty the King is firmly confronting the brutal Israeli aggression against the people of the West Bank and Gaza Strip. He personally supervises the dispatch of humanitarian aid and its delivery to those under siege in the Gaza Strip. His Majesty directs the maintenance of military hospitals there and in various Palestinian cities, and confronts Israeli expansionist plans and attempts at the forced displacement of the Palestinian people. This is why Jordan, with its Hashemite leadership, clans, tribes, and diverse social groups, has been the primary defender of the Palestinian cause. He also indicated that His Majesty the King considers the Palestinian cause and its defense a top priority and strives with all his might to enable the Palestinian people to exercise their legitimate rights to establish a Palestinian state on Palestinian national soil with East Jerusalem as its capital. El-Fayez stated that the region has witnessed unrest, tragic events, scenarios for resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the US administration's positions on this conflict, and the settlement proposals it will propose to end the region's crises require us all to confront all schemes targeting Jordan, rally around the homeland and the Hashemite throne under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, and support His Majesty King Abdullah II in his defense of our national principles and Jordan's supreme interests.
In their remarks, Madaba's senators, representatives, and dignitaries affirmed their support for the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II for a strong and resilient Jordan in the face of the challenges facing the nation. They also rejected any attempt to undermine our armed forces, security services, and national institutions.
They affirmed their loyalty and allegiance to the Hashemite leadership and the homeland, emphasizing the importance of preserving the supreme interests of the Jordanian state.
The Senate President and the heads of the Senate committees listened to citizens' comments on various service and economic issues, as well as the various issues of poverty and unemployment in the governorate. They emphasized the importance of following up with relevant government agencies and finding appropriate solutions, including establishing investment projects that employ the workforce. At the beginning of the meeting, Madaba Governor Faisal Al-Masaeed welcomed the Senate President and members of the Senate, appreciating the visit as a means of engaging with citizens, which reflects the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II. He stressed the importance of standing behind the Hashemite leadership to confront challenges.
