Amman, May 7 – Chairman of the Financial and Economic Committee in the Senate, Senator Dr. Rajai Muasher, along with several committee members, met on Wednesday with representatives from an economic organization and a development initiative to discuss best practices in the operations of the Audit Bureau.
The meeting included Tuzla Latif, representative of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and Abdelhakim Ben Al-Azraq, representative of the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI).
Senator Muasher reviewed the Senate’s oversight role and the committee’s working mechanism in cooperation with the Audit Bureau, noting that several meetings had been held to discuss the Bureau’s annual report.
He emphasized that the outcomes of these periodic meetings have contributed a comprehensive and integrated perspective to the legislative and oversight processes.
The meeting addressed a number of key observations and explored opportunities for exchanging expertise in applying global best practices within the Audit Bureau’s work, as well as mechanisms for effective collaboration and partnership between the Senate and the Bureau.
