Senate President conveys King, Crown Prince greetings to Kuwait's emir

Amman, January 8 - Senate President, Faisal El-Fayez, on Wednesday delivered greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II to His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait, and Crown Prince His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.

During a visit to Kuwait City and talks with Kuwaiti Crown Prince, El-Fayez affirmed His Majesty's pride in the "strong and solid brotherly" bilateral relations and and keenness to boost them in various fields.

The meeting discussed ways to enhance Jordanian-Kuwaiti relations to serve common interests, according to a Senate statement.

Talsk also went over the region's current situation and the need to stop the brutal Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

The two sides affirmed the importance of continuing joint coordination on issues of common interest, amid the region's developments, which require "remarkable" efforts to restore security and stability.

Furthermore, both sides reiterated the need to unify and coordinate efforts on regional developments, especially endeavors related to Syria and Gaza Strip, and ways to counter Israel's aggressive policies and expansionist ambitions.

Meanwhile, His Highness Sheikh Sabah praised the "high" level of bilateral relations, stressing Kuwait's keenness to strengthen and develop them in various fields to meet the two brotherly countries' desired aspirations.

During the meeting, El-Fayez referred to the King's continuous efforts to stop Israeli aggression against the Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, and break the siege imposed on the strip by delivering humanitarian and relief aid.

El-Fayez noted His Majesty's efforts to enable the Palestinian people to restore their legitimate rights and establish an independent Palestinian state, in accordance with the two-state solution.

Valuing Kuwait's supportive stances towards Jordan, El-Fayez stressed the importance of strengthening relations in various fields, especially in economic and trade areas, and increasing joint investments, praising Kuwait's positions towards various Arab issues.

On the sidelines of his Kuwait visit, El-Fayez met with His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the former Prime Minister of Kuwait.

The two sides discussed "strong and distinguished" Jordanian-Kuwaiti relations, commending their "high" level in various aspects.

El-Fayez and Sheikh Nasser said bilateral relations have always been "positive and serve common interests and the just causes of the nation."
